BRIEF BACKGROUND SUMMARY: Dr. Cox has indicated that Jordan is five years younger than him, putting her date of birth somewhere around 1965. She's the oldest of three children, with a younger brother, Ben, who died of leukemia, and a younger sister, Danni (Jordan has slept with every single one of Danni's boyfriends, but they maintain a good relationship). Her father, Quinn, was on the board of directors for Sacred Heart Hospital. When he died, she took over his position. Her father was an alcoholic and abusive to Jordan's mother. When Jordan was 19, she lost her virginity to her boyfriend's best friend and got pregnant. She had an abortion. Jordan met Perry Cox when he was a medical intern and she was in college, studying business. They had a long relationship and finally got married, only to divorce five years later after she cheated on him with his then-protégé, Dr. Pete Fisher. The two remained separated for 18 months, maintaining a strictly sexual relationship, before Jordan became pregnant and they got back together. Their son, Jack, was born, and they remained in a committed relationship, though unmarried, until they found out they signed the wrong papers in their divorce and were, in fact, still married. They decided to give being married another go, but quickly realized that the marriage was undermining their relationship and they had a divorce ceremony. Jordan eventually took a full-time job at the hospital, and later became pregnant with a second child. The pregnancy had complications, resulting in a need for pre-natal surgery, but she gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Jennifer Dylan Cox.
